The Story of Decathlon

Decathlon, a globally recognized sports retailer, operates in more than 40 countries and has 30 stores across Belgium. The growth and success of Decathlon are attributed to their ability to embrace innovative solutions and respond to the needs of their customers and employees. However, with that growth came operational challenges, particularly in communication within their ever-expanding network of stores.

The Digital Challenges

Before Decathlon partnered with Dstny, each of their stores was managed through a separate telephone system. This setup quickly proved to be cumbersome and inefficient. Managing the phone systems was not only complex on an administrative level but also problematic for the users. The need to modernize these outdated systems became increasingly urgent as the company grew and the demand for streamlined communication increased. Additionally, more and more employees were using smartphones, and they desired a solution that better aligned with their daily work practices.

Our Solutions

The collaboration with Dstny brought about the desired change. Decathlon now has a single central management portal, allowing for easy management of all users. This cloud-based solution, fully isolated from other customers for optimal security, provides Decathlon with the certainty and flexibility they need. Employees can now use their smartphones as fully functional wireless phones, connected to the phone system. This allows them not only to make internal calls but also to manage their presence status without the need for reception, which was previously necessary. This solution saves time and energy daily, increases efficiency, and serves as a successful example of how technology can enhance business processes. Thanks to the trust in Dstny and the successful implementation in Belgium, Decathlon is now considering rolling out this solution in the Netherlands as well.
